It’s happening. I repeat, IT’S HAPPENING! After years of threatening to tear this bathroom apart and start fresh, we’re finally doing our remodel, and not just with pretty moodboards and Pinterest hopes. The plans are set, the products are here, and the demo is about to begin.
But first, let’s talk about the design direction and how this project is shaping up, with the help of some serious backup from Heritage Builders and their DIY + Pro Support service.
The Design Plan
The main bathroom has been begging for a remodel since the day we moved in. The layout I actually love. The finishes… big NO THANK YOU. And the overall vibe? Just eww.

So, we’re reimagining it as a space that actually feels intentional: timeless materials, warm finishes, and a little bit of vintage romance.
Here’s what we’ve already locked in:

The Help Behind the Scenes
This remodel isn’t just a solo act, it’s powered by a mix of hands-on ambition and expert backup from Heritage Builders.
They’ll be stepping in to:
-
Get me started on demo (so I don’t remove something that is supposed to be there)
-
Frame out the tub shelf to give the space some depth (and functionality)
-
Manage the subs (plumber, electrician, etc.) so I don’t have to pretend I know what they’re talking about
-
Guide me through the install of all the pretty things—like tile, trim, and all the finishing details that make it feel finished and done right!
It’s the perfect blend of “I want to save money” and “I also want it done right.”
What’s Still TBD?
Paint color. Wallpaper. Runner. The usual suspects. I’ve got options I love but you know how these things go. AKA you know I love too many things and hate only choosing one. I’ll be sharing two moodboards soon and letting you weigh in, because apparently I need the internet to validate my design choices 🙃.
Stay tuned for that post and for now, feel free to spiral with me over whether I’m making the right decisions. — more on my instagram @heritagehausdesigns.
